Today is the International Transgender Day of Visibility.

Here are some resources to help you be a better ally to your transgender and genderfluid friends and neighbors.

GLAAD has some basic introductory material: a good primer on transgender terminology and an introduction to the difference between gender identity and sexual orientation. They also have tips on being a better trans ally.

And check out this Gender Unicorn from Trans Student Educational Resources:

LGBTQ Nation has a great article highlighting how members of the trans community show their visibility and celebrate their pride.

The FOLD highlights some prominent trans authors. (And while you are at it, go ahead and follow The FOLD on facebook, too.)

Happy Trans Day of Visibility. We see you. You are counted.
